Jim Byrnes returned to Blue Frog Studios with 6 sold out shows. Jim holds the record for most sold out shows at Blue Frog. With all the Pandemic safety measures in place Blue Frog played host to a rare event these days, live music! With only 1/3 of the audience space available, patrons were treated to a very intimate evening of music. Jim and the band ran through some old favourites, and sprinkled in some new tunes to the mix, offering an exciting and entertaining evening. Kudos to hosts Kelly and Juanita for tackling some challenging restrictions to be able to present a great night of live entertainment. Blue Frog is presenting Live Streaming Concerts for the month of October, it’s “Rocktober,” and a complete listing of concerts can be found at BlueFrogStudios.ca
Take the duelling pianos format, mix in a drum track with magical effects, throw in a world class guitarist and engaging personalities, and you’ve got yourself a high energy, highly entertaining evening of music! A&M Grands is such an act. The “A” in A&M is singer/pianist Andrew Johns, and the “M” is pianist/guitarist/singer, Mick Della Vee, two outstanding musicians who entertained 3 sold out shows at Blue Frog Studios in White Rock, British Columbia, Canada. Taking requests from the audience, Mick and Andrew took the crowd on a musical ride that spanned decades, and had them singing along to all the hit songs! Amazing talents, and an entertaining mix of fun and music. It was a night could have gone on and on and on!

The amazing talent of Katie Markham took to the Blue Frog stage last night and performed all the classics of Adele to 2 sold out concerts. Katie has been described, by Adele herself as, brilliant, glorious, amazing and spectacular! Katie was a finalist on the X Factor in the UK and was chosen by Adele to go on and tour with her tribute act. Backed by a terrific band and backup vocalists, she took the audience on a trip through the Adele Songbook in her show titled, “Someone like you.” She had the crowd standing and singing along, not wanting the show to end. Katie and the group performed here in White Rock almost 2 years ago, and here’s hoping she won’t wait that long again to pay another visit.
At Blue Frog Studios in White Rock, British Columbia, Canada, Dreams, the ultimate tribute to Fleetwood Mac, had them standing, dancing and singing along, to finish up 5 sold out shows this weekend. The Genius of Ray Charles came alive tonight, at Blue Frog Studios in White Rock British Columbia, Canada, thanks to Mike Henry, and his Soul Explosion Band.
Mike Henry has performed in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand, in Atlantic City, Lake Tahoe, through Southeast Asia and the Middle East. And his tribute to the Genius of Ray Charles comes right from the heart. It was a wonderful mix of the great hits of Ray Charles and a few Seasonal tunes thrown in. The sold out crowd loved every minute. What a great way to cap off the holiday season.
It was a Kalimba weekend at Blue Frog Studios in White Rock, British Columbia, Canada. This past Summer, the high energy group had 3500 people dancing in the streets during the Concerts for the Pier series. We brought the show inside this weekend, and for the late show on Saturday, took away all the seats and created a dance party that rocked into the night. Kalimba celebrates the music and spirit of Earth, Wind and Fire, and because we’re into the season, threw in some Christmas tunes with a funky beat. Kalimba plays all up and down the West Coast, and we were fortunate to have the band make a stop in White Rock.
It was a very very Valdy night at Blue Frog Studios in White Rock, British Columbia, Canada as Valdy returned to the Blue Frog stage. Blue Frog was packed once again for this Canadian troubadour, and the crowd loved every minute. The songs, the stories, the singalongs, they were all there. Judging by his tour schedule, Valdy seems to be on the road most of the year. He has fans across the country, in the U.S., Europe, Australia and New Zealand. He is truly a Canadian Ambassador. Check out his webpage for his tour schedule, and if he’s coming to a town near you, don’t miss the opportunity to see this National Treasure. Valdy, not to be missed.
It was definitely Christmas with a Gypsy twist tonight at Blue Frog Studios in White Rock British Columbia as Van Django took to the stage. With an obvious nod to the great Django Reinhardt, Van Django took us on a wonderful Yuletide musical journey. Van Django is an acoustic string ensemble made up of four of Canada’s most talented and eclectic musicians; violinist Cameron Wilson, guitarist Budge Schachte, guitarist/cellist Finn Manniche and bassist Brent Gubbels, with the wonderful L.J. Mounteney on vocals. Their Christmas CD, Cool Yule features all the favourites, including Skating, from the Charlie Brown Christmas show, It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas, I’ll Be Home for Christmas, Sleigh Ride, ‘Zat You Santa Claus and In the Bleak Midwinter — the latter in a Celtic style. Even a spiced up version of Let it Snow, as a slow Argentine tango. The night finished with the traditional Silent Night. It was a great night, and a great kickoff to the holiday season.

And to strengthen the band, 3 new members have been added to the All Star lineup, Bill Sample on keys, Tim Porter on lead guitar and vocals, and Nathan Aswell teaming up with Joani Bye on lead vocals. Once again have a winning combination when you add these new members to the already talented cast of players.. The Blue Frog audiences responded with standing ovations for every show.
