It was an amazing night at Blue Frog Studios tonight! A performance we may never see again, unless you happen to be in David Gogo’s kitchen for a jam session. Bluesman, David Gogo shared the stage with Monkey Junk’s Steve Marriner for an acoustic night of the Blues. And what a night it was! Two packed shows of Blues aficionados, who were treated to an evening of song, story, and obvious friendship between two of the country’s best Blues musicians. Steve was on his way west, and David was on his way East, and Kelly Breaks of Blue Frog suggested they meet in White Rock. What a great idea that turned out to be, especially for those in attendance. David and Steve took turns telling stories and singing their songs, other’s songs and singing the Blues all night long. It was a very special night.

Within seconds he had the house rockin’ with the infectious sounds of what he calls “Happy Blues.” He truly is the King of the Keyboards, and backed by an all star band of Rob Montgomery, Dave Barton and Darryl Mayes, it made it impossible to sit still. Some members of the audience got up to dance! A standing ovation, and encore finished off an incredible evening of entertainment. Next time he comes to town, make sure you get a ticket…

It was a cold wintery night last night, but the David Vest band warmed up the crowd at the Blue Frog Studios in White Rock British Columbia. It was an entertaining mix of Blues, Boogie Woogie, Rock and Roll and Soul. He’s played on the bill with all the greats, from Big Joe Turner to Roy Orbison. He and his band featured a number songs from his soon to be released CD, and had the crowd singing along.
