Well….everyone at the Blue Frog Studios in White Rock British Columbia, got at least 5 shows in one tonight. Zachary Stephenson, who has performed in 11 different productions of The Buddy Holly Story in North America came to the Blue Frog with an all new show. It included songs from Hank Williams, a little Del Shannon, Ritchie Valens, Jerry Lee Lewis, and his wife, Molly D. from Kansas City, sang some wonderful renditions of The Carpenters hit songs….and his band (masquerading as the Crickets) were exceptional. What a show!! Another Sold Out performance for Zachary at the Blue Frog. Oh yes, and everyone left smiling!! What a night.
The Golf World and friends said goodbye to a Champion yesterday at the University Golf Club. Family, friends and colleagues paid tribute to Cec Ferguson, a man who touched the lives of so many people throughout his many years as a golf professional. His career took him to many cities as a Club pro, and his professional playing career took him around the world representing Canada, and Canadian golf. He was truly a one of a kind, and will be missed by all. One word sums up the life of Cec, a word that was synonymous with Cec…Outstanding!! So long, my friend.
My heartfelt condolences to Cec’s family.
Sister Barbara and I paid tribute to our Mother yesterday, with a get together lunch at our favourite restaurant in Bellingham Washington. Few words, just good thoughts, and Barbara placed a bouquet of flowers next to Mother’s urn. It’s been a year that she’s passed, and she is missed.
Tom Keenlyside and an All-Star Band hit the stage at the Blue Frog Studios in White Rock B.C. tonight, performing to a sold out crowd. Musica Brasileira, a mixture of musical styles with the flavour of Brazil. Tom was backed by an amazing group of artists, Bill Coon on guitar, Sharon Minemoto on piano, Bassist, Miles Hill, Bernie Arai on drums, Sal Ferreras, percussion. An amazing performance in the intimate confines of the Blue Frog Studios, Canada’s Hottest Live Recording Theatre. Tom said that in a mid age crisis, most opt for the red convertible….he opts for the band that was on the stage tonight. A wonderful evening of music that was streamed live on the Blue Frog Facebook Page. Come back again real soon, Tom. Great show!!
We took a trip to Africa last night at the Blue Frog Studios in White Rock B.C., courtesy of Ezra Kwizera! A sold out crowd swayed, danced and at times, sang along to the soulful mix of Reggae, East African Bongo and Pop, delivered by Ezra and his band. Ezra has very strong ties with Rwanda, and part proceeds of the concert went towards the construction and operation of a music school he is building in that country. We were streaming live last night, and those watching, were invited to make a contribution to the cause by visiting www.bluefrogstudios.ca and clicking on the Donate button at the top of the page. Ezra was debuting his new album Humera. Bravo, to the Blue Frog for assisting Ezra in his project, and giving him the platform to explain and entertain.
