I had the great privilege to MC the Vancouver Police Pipe Band’s Robbie Burns Supper on Saturday night. Not only was it the celebration of Scottish Poet Robbie Burns, but it was the first official event of the year for the band that is celebrating its 100th Anniversary. It was a sold out crowd that was treated to Scottish dance and music, and an amazing concert by the Pipe Band. Jim Chu, the Vancouver Police Department’s Chief Constable and his wife were on hand to join in the celebration. It was a great night, and as a bonus I got to catch up with an old school friend, Bruce Eburne, who has been the band’s Drum Major for over 30 years! If you get a chance to see and hear the band perform….do it.
The 2013 Millionaire Lottery fundraising campaign came to a close on January 15th. Net proceeds will help support patient care at Vancouver General Hospital. If you purchased a ticket, or better yet, tickets, the final draw takes place on February 6. Tune in to Global TV during the Noon news, and check the website to see if you are a winner. The Grand Prize is your choice of 1 of 4 homes, or 2.5 Million dollars in cash. And there are thousands of other prizes as well. Good Luck to everyone who helped make this year’s campaign a huge success.
January 15th was the deadline for buying tickets in the Vancouver General Hospital Millionaire Lottery, and I had the pleasure of cutting some remote radio spots with Mike Eckford of AM 980. The remote broadcast did the trick, sending ticket sales over the 90% sold mark. Now, those of us with tickets, anxiously await the draw for the prize homes. Go to Millionaire Lottery dot com for all the details and prizing.
