I had the pleasure of working with Paula Martin last night, judging the radio news category at the Jack Webster Foundation Awards. It was the 27th annual celebration of excellence in B.C. journalism, and quite possibly the largest media awards event in the country. Over 1000 people from radio, television and print attended. The Webster winner in our category was Bob Keating of the CBC for his series of reports on the Johnson’s Landing slide. Congratulations to Bob, and to all the Webster recipients. It was a great night, thanks to the hard work of Nora Newlands, the Executive Director of the Jack Webster Foundation, and her crew.
MC’d “One Enchanted Evening” fundraiser for the Surrey Hospice Society. A very generous crowd, raising lots of money for hospice. It was held at Eaglequest Coyote Creek Golf and Country Club in Surrey. Beth Kish, the Executive Director of the Surrey Hospice and her crew of volunteers made it a night to remember!
Just wrapped 2 days of shooting VGH Millionaire Lottery TV commercials with Director/Producer Deb Adams. The Grand Prize this year, your choice of 4 beautiful homes or 2.5 Million dollars cash! The 2 White Rock homes are incredible, one is on Marine Drive, right across the street from the Pacific Ocean, and the other is a modern state of the art home on Best St. The informational brochure and email will be hitting homes very soon. Watch for it, then help out the Vancouver General Hospital, and buy some tickets, go to millionaire lottery.com…you just might be a winner!!
I just finished a studio session recording radio commercials for the Vancouver General Hospital Foundation Millionaire Lottery. If you’re a sports fan, you’re going to love the sports prize package that’s up for grabs. This, in addition to 4 homes, cars and cash and over 3500 prizes in all. It’s big….really big this year! Stay tuned.
I shot a Fortis gas commercial at Deluxe restaurant in White Rock last week. Executive Chef, and owner of Deluxe, Jeremy Duke and I shot most of the commercial in the kitchen of the restaurant, then finished sitting down in the restaurant with a nice glass of Pino Noir, and a prawn creation he had cooked up on a natural gas stove….of course! It’s the first of 2 commercials I’ll be doing for Fortis, part of a series of 4 spots, spreading the word about natural gas.
